Herbal Resources

Hey, my herby friends 🌱

I'm often asked for recommendations on herb suppliers, what books to buy and how to learn about herbalism. So, I wanted to create this resource for you to refer back to when needed! It is also pinned at the top of my Facebook page.

We'll start with where to purchase herbs.

I highly recommend growing your own but I do understand that this is not always possible. Next best thing is to seek out any herb farms in your immediate area or state. If there are none, see if you have an herb shop in your area. If none of these are available, I have a list of places where you can purchase from. I love purchasing from herb farms and supporting small businesses. Plus, I find the quality to be top notch! Because herbs are seasonal, sometimes smaller farms are out of stock of what I'm looking for or simply don't grow it. In that case, I'll look at herb suppliers.

Herb farms:

Oshala Farm

Foxtrot Farm

Golden Hour Herb Farm

Foster Farm Botanicals

Friends Of The Trees Botanicals

Herb suppliers:

Mountain Rose Herbs

Starwest Botanicals

Frontier Co-op

Books:

I have many recommendations in my Amazon storefront you can browse through. For beginners, I usually suggest the Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine. Rosemary Gladstar has several books that would be well suited for beginners, as well. You should also check out Rosalee de la ForΓͺt!

You can find my Amazon storefront here.

Online Learning:

Herbalista offers free classes and courses online.

Herb Mentor by Learning Herbs offers an affordable online subscription (try it out for $1) that offers short courses, plant walks, recipes, etc.

Of course, there are herb schools, as well, but these cost substantially more. I'm happy to recommend some if you're interested. Just ask in the comments!

Some podcasts you might like are:

The Holistic Herbalism Podcast

Herbs with Rosalee

The Plant Path

The HerbRally Podcast

Be sure to follow me on YouTube, as well! Longer, more in depth videos are coming soon!

If you have a resource you absolutely love, share it in the comments and I'll add it to the list!

I hope this is helpful for y'all.

Happy herbing πŸŒ±πŸ–€
